JumpStart Inc. is a nationally recognized nonprofit venture development organization headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio, operating across three pillars: tech startups, small businesses, and corporations and research institutions. Founded in 2003 by NorTech and Case Western Reserve University, JumpStart combines JumpStart Ventures ($140M across four funds) with the Trailblazer HealthTech and Software Accelerators, roughly quarterly 3-month programs offering up to $275,000 in non-dilutive services, no equity taken, plus year-round Operational Support Services for tech founders outside a cohort. For small businesses, it runs ScaleReady, CapitalReady, and the Blueprint Program, alongside workshops, webinars, and Cleveland Learning Centers, plus a continuing Stark County Impact Program; its Cleveland predecessor ran 24 cohorts before retiring in 2025. JumpStart also helps corporations and universities commercialize research and build internal innovation capacity. Since 2003, JumpStart-supported companies have generated $16.9B in cumulative economic output, and JumpStart Ventures portfolio companies have raised $1.5B+ in follow-on funding, including CoverMyMeds and AmpliFund.
