Mucker Capital, co-founded in 2011 by Erik Rannala and William Hsu, is a Los Angeles (Venice)-based venture capital firm backing founders outside Silicon Valley, with additional offices in Austin and Toronto and staff based in Chicago and New York. It combines a direct Seed/Series A investment practice with a pre-seed accelerator, MuckerLab, ranked among the top U.S. accelerators by the Seed Accelerator Rankings Project. Mucker placed No. 75 of 80 in TIME’s 2026 list of America’s Best Incubators & Accelerators. Eligible startups are pre-seed to Series A, industry-agnostic (B2B, SaaS, FinTech, Healthcare, Logistics, DTC, Marketplaces, AI, and more), primarily outside traditional venture hubs, with fully committed founding teams preferred; no relocation is required. Rather than a high-volume, filter-funnel accelerator model, MuckerLab caps its annual cohort at 20-25 companies and provides hands-on operator support across product, marketing, sales, recruiting, and fundraising, with no fixed program length and no demo day. Direct Capital investments proceed on a rolling basis. Notable exits include Honey (acquired by PayPal for $4B), ServiceTitan (IPO), and AuditBoard (acquired by Hg for over $3B).
