StartX is a nonprofit accelerator founded in 2010, dedicated exclusively to Stanford University-affiliated founders — current and former students, faculty, postdocs, and fellows. It takes zero equity and charges zero fees. The program runs two tracks: a 3-month Full-Time Accelerator, and a Student Immersive (Student-in-Residence), a 3-day intensive plus 2-month part-time support program for students building while in school, with a $10,000 non-dilutive grant opportunity. Dedicated StartX AI and StartX Med tracks provide vertical-specific resources and events alongside the core industry-agnostic community. The separate Stanford-StartX Fund may invest alongside other professional investors. StartX operates from a 12,500+ sq ft space in Palo Alto and is moving into The Link, a new hub at Stanford Research Park, in early 2027. StartX has supported 3,000+ founders, including 29 unicorns and 144 companies valued at $100M+, with a combined $200 billion in valuation and $44 million raised on average per company. In 2026, Time magazine ranked StartX 9th on its list of America’s best incubators and accelerators.
